An overgrown backyard becomes a family-friendly space for entertaining and relaxation

Raising standards

After moving from their condominium to their new home, the homeowners were embarrassed by the state of the backyard — it certainly wasn’t up to their usual standards. We had done work for them before, so they called us to help tame their overgrown and unusable backyard, giving them the space they needed to spend quality time with their family.

The perfect outdoor space

The existing pool had good bones, but was in need of a full renovation, which included converting it to salt water and installing a new liner, natural stone coping, stairs, lighting and a dive rock. Fitting the new coping to the pre-existing pool was a bit of a challenge — a skilled mason was needed to cut the stone to follow the curve of the pool.

Their property backed onto a park, so to maintain that visual depth we paired open-style ornamental fencing with privacy screens and plantings.

We also made the entrance more inviting, with a new asphalt driveway edged with interlocking natural stone, natural stone steps and a feature wall. Garden plantings and landscape lighting worked together to create a lovely ambiance, both day and night.

Family oasis

Formerly deemed unusable, this space has been transformed into a family-friendly oasis. Here, the kids can play while the entire family unwinds and shares precious moments together. Now they can host memorable pool parties in a yard that fills them with pride and joy.

Custom stonework

The custom stonework throughout the property, from the striking feature wall at the home's entrance to the meandering path and inviting patio that guides you to the pool deck, provides the home with a unified, harmonious aesthetic.
